The inspiration for this painting was the rusting metal post and wire, viewed one Summers day whilst walking with my beautiful wife in the Sussex countryside near our home. The contrast of the rusting metal and wire against the delicate beauty of the wren was the 'reason to paint'. Watercolour. 8in. X 10in. SOLD. In private U.K. collection.
A Wren, Great Britain's second smallest and possibly best loved bird, perched on soon to blossom rose buds, having captured a meal for itself or possibly for its young? This is a beautiful bird, weighing only a few grammes and small enough to be held gently in the hand. Every painting of a wren that I have exhibited has been purchased within a matter of hours, sometimes minutes! They never fail to inspire and impress me as do the wonderful people that appreciate and purchase my work, I thank you all. Apologies for the poor quality image, it was a painting I sold many, many, years ago! Watercolour. 8in. X 10in. SOLD. In private U.K. collection.
